This poster was produced by the neo-fascist organization Comunità Militante RAIDO (Militant Community RAIDO, CMR). Founded in 1995, CMR sponsors various "militant training groups," boxing and combat sports competitions, and mountaineering, which are intended for young, far-right Roman men. The group encourages its members to pursue the group's so-called "triad of Tradition": "Tradizione - Formazione - Rivoluzione" (Tradition - Training - Revolution) (N/Da). While “Militant Community RAIDO” was inspired by the proto-Germanic rune, “raidō,” which translates to “the journey one undertakes,” CMR's symbol, an upright bow and arrow, was inspired by a well-known passage in the the ancient Sanskrit text, the Markandeya Purana. "Life as a bow, the soul as an arrow,” the text in question reads, “the Absolute Spirit as the target to be pierced" (N/Db).
